A New “Go” Date

Psalm 9:10  And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; for You , Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.

And because we know His name, we put our trust in Him. For we have sought  Him, and were not forsaken. And we will continue to trust Him, and covet your prayers as we now have a new start or “go” date for stem cell transplant. Tuesday, October 2nd, is that date, so long as there are no more delays. With flu season already upon us, I am just doing the best I can to stay healthy; for the smallest infection will derail the plan again.  I have one more CT scan this week, just to make sure there are no more concerns in the lungs. Tomorrow will bring the removal of the handy dandy double port which has for five months drastically reduced needle pokes. I will have a triple lumen PIC line inserted upon admission on October 2nd. All chemotherapy, blood products, and anything else needed will be administered through that.  This will be a 21-22 day stay, with chemotherapy for the first six days, a rest day, infusion with my cells, and then recovery. I am already planning my strategy for making my room as homey as possible. My parents will be coming early in October, and will stay for a few weeks after I come home, as those first few weeks will be a bit dicey. Risk of infection is high, and with three school-age children in our home, we will need the Lord’s help and protection. Once again, though, He is already there, and we are just ready to begin the last segment of this Mount Everest in our lives.  Please know how incredibly encouraging every single comment has been to our hearts. Some of you make me laugh, and others of you make me cry–it’s all a huge blessing!! You are all God’s hand of blessing in our lives–thank you for every prayer lifting us up to Him. That’s where we want to be.
