No fainting here!!!!

Psalm 27:13-14 ” I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart: WAIT, I say on the LORD.

Well, Friends, the stem cells have come home to me. It was, as they predicted, a fairly anticlimactict procedure, much like the many blood-product transfusions I have received since April. Curiously, the medical community has no physiological explanation for why these stem cells will make their way to my bone marrow, and “set up housekeeping.” The Master Creator of Intelligent Design continues to amaze me as I am humbled and yet emboldened to trust Him more. The docs tell me that it will take 4-8 days for the stems now in the peripheral bloodstream to engraft in the marrow. So, on day 5, I will receive colonizing Neupogen to encourage replication and maturation. For now we wait. The chemo-initiated  crazy blood game is expected to hit sometime this weekend, as counts plummet. I am told 23 laps around the nurses station equals one mile, so I am dutifully “working out” while beginning to feel strength slip away. Tonite will be a special treat, as hubby will spend the night here on a cot. Mom and Dad sailed through Chicago traffic yesterday, and pulled into Froedtert just as the stem cell transfusion began. Thank you so much for praying them here. I am so grateful for their willingness to drop all and come to Wisconsin, to help us.
