Saturday morning and pumpkin pancakes!

Well, if today’s font could be any other color, it would  definitely be ORANGE. This morning, promptly at 3:45 a.m.,  my “low-protein sensor” went off, and as I padded down the hallway to the kitchen in my squeaky rubber-bottomed socks for the cottage cheese and banana that I had stowed away last night, my thoughts turned to visions of yup–you guessed it– pumpkin pancakes! Complete with New Hampshire Maple syrup, pecans, and whipped cream. So, the plan hatched in my brain then and there, that there would simply have to be a big family breakfast on Keup Road this morning, with the above-mentioned beauties! Markie  is home this weekend from Maranatha,  the Nowack grands are perfectly entrenched, and  so as I surrendered back to the sandman, the plan was fixed. The IPODS would connect us in FACETIME  and a new memory would be made. And indeed, it all unfolded perfectly- like a lovely dream.  A switch in gears: Lab  reports are back, and the numbers are precariously low. These next three or four days are critical, as there is literally no immune system in place, and an infection could prove a serious setback. So far, though, everything is perfectly on schedule, and the colonizing Neupogen treatments start today.  Neupogen is best described as a jump-start for the “little darlings” (stem cells), which have hopefully found their way to bone marrow and are making  themselves Home Sweet Home. The happier they are and the faster they replicate and mature, the sooner blood counts go  up, and I GO HOME! Thank you for your intercessions on the behalf of me and the Brooksies–this morning, I am warmed and humbled again. Have a wonderful weekend, and i’ll see you in cyber space. Happy Happy Birthday, Dear Mom  Brooks!!! I love you, and wish you a wonderful day full of celebration  and God’s sweetest blessings!
