Happy Thanksgiving!!

Psalm 105:1-4 O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people. Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works. Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD. Seek the LORD and his strength: seek his face evermore.

Happy Thanksgiving Dear Friends!!!!  As I have contemplated Thanksgiving Day lately, I have to tell you– I have a whole new heart and mindful of thanks to give. This  post is reflective of my thanks to God, and purposes to make known His deeds among the people. Please seek the LORD, His strength, and His face, and please let your heart rejoice with me!!!  Today marks day number 43 since my stem cell transplant! I am back to doing some laundry, dinner prep, (Mark does breakfast-wonderful guy!- and some of lunch) some church attendance, some taxiing, a smidge of shopping, and some special outings. Aside from “atypical pneumonia” which I am being treated for right now,  myecovery has been marked by sweet improvements.  Mark walks me daily-  one mile plus, and labs report that red blood cell counts are normal–wow!! haven’t heard that word for a long time!! Platelets are steadily rising, and whites are on the slow but steady increase as well. My biggest challenge is using up all of my energy for the day before the day is half done!! Naps are necessary, and I am trying to learn when “enough is simply enough!”  James 1:5 commands me” If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” Well,  He has kept that promise many times in the last eight months alone. I so need that wisdom now, and know He will give it as I seek balance in this whole recovery process. The Brooks family looks forward to a sweet and quiet Thanksgiving Day, and Abbie has promised to be my constant companion in the kitchen as we serve the family  a meal which will be meaningful and reflective of King David’s words above.  I thank God for my salvation, for precious parents who raised me to love Him, for a Christian education which prepared me for the life ministry He has given, a godly husband who has been faithful and loving for 20 years, four children entrusted into our stewardship (our joy), dear siblings and siblings-in-law, extented family who have been so dear and supportive,  dearer in-laws than any girl could ask for, and  wonderful Christian brothers and sisters He has sent all  along the way. A rich woman am I indeed!! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! And happy engagement to Kenny and Jill!!!  All of us Brooksies are so happy for you, and looking forward to your beautiful wedding!!  I look forward to my first PET scan somewhere around the end of December or beginning of January–a test which could easily cause anxiety. At this point, I’m too busy happily living each day God has given me–I’ll leave the tests in His hands. Blessings on you and yours!
